Chicken tortilla soup




The best 5-ingredient tortilla chicken soup takes only 20 minutes to make! One pot is all you need for this delicious and creamy tortilla soup. Combine 5 ingredients + some seasoning and let cook on top of the stove. Season with cheese, avocado, chips and sour cream.

Ingredient





  • 2 cups chicken soup

  • 2 cups cooked chicken chopped or chopped

  • 1 can (16 oz) refined beans

  • 1 can (15 oz) tiny diced tomatoes (do not drain)

  • 1 can (15 oz) chili peas (do not drain)

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder

  • chopped cheese, tortilla chips, sour cream, avocado slices for toppings











  1. In a large soup pot, mix all ingredients and mix together. Heat to a simmer over medium heat. Once it has boiled, turn the heat down to low, cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10-20 minutes.






  2. Serve with all your favorite toppings.









I use chicken beef broth full of salt so I don’t add extra salt. If you use low-sodium chicken broth, you may need to add salt. Just try the soup when it boils, add salt as needed / if desired.



The spices are highly customizable. Add more or less any spices, add some cayenne pepper, or warm fresh garlic. There really is no wrong way to add spices. Just add what you like!
